Window film products are transparent layers of high quality polyester which are laminated and coated using special adhesives, ultraviolet inhibitors and protective scratch resistant coatings. Select concentrations of metal (or carbon) particles are sputter coated onto sheets of polyester, allowing for varying degrees of color and solar energy rejection performance capability. Technologies keeping pace with demand has resulted in development of clear and ceramic films that reflect the sun without changing the appearance of the glass. Window films are applied to the inside surface of glass and are available in clear, tinted, reflective and an array of decorative patterns. A. Security films are thicker and its aggressive strength and bonding characteristics, to glass, have made it suitable for use in protecting from hurricane force winds, intruders and for bomb-blast (military and government buildings) Thick security films will hold glass together when shattered keeping a layer of protection from breach or flying shards.

A. We recommend three drops dish soap (Dawn or Palmolive) added to a quart sprayer and polish off with soft paper towel or soft cloth (such as a baby diaper or T-shirt). You can use vinegar and water (1 part vinegar to 10 parts water), or Windex with vinegar available at any store. Be sure to read the label that it does not contain ammonia. If you use a professional window cleaner, let them know which windows are tinted. Q. Can dual pane windows be tinted? A. The answer is yes. Dual pane windows are very common in all homes in Northeast Florida . Dual pane or thermal pane have two pieces about 1/2″ apart with sealed space in-between. Your windows can be tinted but certain guidelines need to be followed in order to obtain warranty coverage for the glass itself. To view-ask for a copy of the “manufacturers warranty.” Q. Will Window tint ruin my view? A. Actually, just the opposite is generally true. Misconception that films are dark often cause hesitant homeowners to never really enjoy the benefits of our virtually invisible residential window films. It is not the color or darkness of the film that offers you most of your benefits, but rather the films’ components that perform or reflect the solar energy.
